ARRIVA has said an investigation is underway after one of its buses collided with a bridge in Wrexham.

The Leader reported on Saturday night that the Wrexham to Llangollen bus became wedged under a railway bridge on Bangor Road in Johnstown.

The road was blocked for a number of hours before the bus was freed, and police urged motorists to avoid the area.

The bus had been diverted from its normal route via the A539 Llangollen Road through Ruabon and Acrefair due to flooding.
