RESIDENTS from an estate in Wrexham are calling on the council to improve the parking situation in the area, which has been described as 'bedlam'.

Richard Williams, of Fenwick Drive, is heading the estate's concerns, saying issues have been ongoing with the access to parking on the estate for over 10 years.

The lack of off-road parking available has led to residents being forced to park their cars on greens, or being left with nowhere to park them at all.

Despite numerous efforts and attempts to change the situation, Mr Williams says things have only got worse.

Residents appear to have had enough and are getting fed up with the lack of parking, with some even selling their cars due to the "inconvenience".

Mr Williams said: "We've had trouble with parking for over 10 years on the estate.

"We've approached the council on a number of occasions but we've had no help.

"Residents were having to park on the green as there was nowhere else for them to park their cars, but the council has come and put up a fence around it to prevent people from parking on it.

"We desperately need parking as residents are struggling. We've got people coming in from night shifts with nowhere to park their cars, it's bedlam sometimes.

A spokesperson for Wrexham Council said: “We have been in correspondence with Mr Williams for many years about his complaint about parking and we can only reiterate that there is not enough room for any more than two parking plots.

"The local councillor cannot use his environmental budget, that is provided by the housing department, as it can only be used for the benefit of council tenants.”
