Wildflowers have been a topic of discussion recently at Chirk Gardener’s Club, which will be holding a plant sale this May.

The club recently welcomed Nancy Lowe who gave a very interesting talk on gardening with wildflowers.

They discovered that many of the things people already have growing in their gardens are actually wildflowers which have just become cultivated. Nancy also explained various ways in which they can be used in the garden from meadows to traditional borders.

The talk was followed up by a wildflower walk on Easter Monday led by Val Blackburn, one of the members who is a keen botanist.

The next meeting of the club is today, Monday, April 24, 7.15pm at Chirk Parish Hall.

John Millington from Hill View Hardy Plants, who have featured on Gardeners’ World and won RHS gold medals, will be coming to talk on Propagation.
