A WREXHAM police inspector has warned Reds fans over limited parking ahead of timorrow's match at the Racecourse.

Inspector Luke Hughes, of the Wrexham City polcing team, said: "As stated previously, parking is going to be a challenge this weekend, but in reality there are plenty of available spaces and most council owned car parks are free from 11am. A few minutes walk wont hurt you (not withstanding those with mobility issues) so park up, have a walk through the city, have a look in some of the shops. You may be surprised at what you find if you actually look. Then make your way to the ground or any venue you chose to watch the game."

He added: "You will notice a significantly increased police presence in the city centre tomorrow evening, that’s not because we are expecting drama (off the pitch) we have no concerns regarding football related disorder. But if too much of the falling over water is consumed there may be issues. Remember, we are there to help, to make sure you all stay safe and 99% of the officers working would much rather be slightly pickled and enjoying the atmosphere with you rather than be working - so please be kind.

"Which leads me to ask for your support in making as many guest to the area as welcome as possible, from what I understand we will likely to have an influx of nationalities visiting us, make them feel as welcome as possible, look after them as well as each other and it will be a fantastic weekend."

Right, quick focus on police related activity and I’ll shut up and let you enjoy your Friday evening.

07:57hrs – Arrest of Aaron Mackenzie – located under a pile of washing – hide and seek competition continues – Harry Povey remains outstanding – all help appreciated.

12:20hrs – Call from St John Ambulance – they have heard that there have been collectors in the area claiming to represent them – they state this is not the case. If you have any CCTV of any such collectors please contact us for awareness.

13:22hrs – Anti social behaviour – rather angry male on Grosvenor Road causing issues at an office – officers attend and he is arrested – not local to Wrexham and has travelled up to spent some time with us (lucky us). Charged and bailed to court.

13:31hrs – Rowdy bench sitters – Charles Street – officers attend and move them on, location to be monitored – we removed a bench previously – really don’t want to remove it again… but if needs must.

14:16hrs – Vehicle taken from Bath Street – likely considered scrap and collected – but taken without the owner’s consent – did you see anything happened within an hour of the call – contact us and quote A057459

15:08hrs – Wanted male spotted by CCTV operators – so starts a comedy foot chase around the city centre – in fairness he gave it a good go, but eventually ran into a dead end. Robert Bailey was charged with three shoplifting offences and was imprisoned today for 15 weeks. Another spree stopped in its tracks.

15:41hrs – Male arrested having entered a property on Bridge street that is subject to a closure order – court date pending. No means no….

19:21hrs – Male ejected from licence premises for being a nuisance – local officers to monitor - continued behaviour will result in exclusion from licensed premises.

22:32hrs - Report of two suspicious males Holt Road, they appear to be there with no purpose ( I often get that feeling…) – officers attend no one located.

05:49hrs – Male with head injury located on King Street, first aid administered.

That’s all for now, enjoy your weekend and please take care and look out for each other.
