A QUEENSFERRY salon has been shortlisted for the finals of the Welsh Hair and Beauty Awards.

Sharnah Evans Hair & Nails has been nominated for the title of Hair and Beauty Salon of the Year.

The awards ceremony will take place on Sunday May 14 at The Cardiff City Stadium

Voted for by the public and with more than 20,000 nominations received, the awards seek to recognise and commend the efforts and success of people working in the hair and beauty industry.

A spokesperson for The Welsh Hair and Beauty Awards 2023 said: “Some of the most iconic stylists, beauticians and well-known salons got shortlisted in this year’s Welsh Hair and Beauty Awards, making it a really fierce competition.

“The 2023 finalists have demonstrated exceptional skills, creativity, and professionalism in their work. They have received glowing reviews from clients, made significant contributions to the industry, and developed innovative techniques leading to inspire others in their field.

“We can’t wait to welcome all our guests and deliver an enjoyable event. We would like to wish all finalists the best of luck."

Speaking about her nomination, salon owner Sharnah Evans said: "This is the fifth year I’ve made the finals for the hair & beauty awards, previously for my freelance work as hairstylist of the year, nail tech of the year, and  customer service experience; but this is the first year for 'Hair and Beauty Salon of the Year' which I’m super proud of as it feels like a much bigger achievement after all the hard work that’s been put in.

"Last year I relaunched my business just before my 10th anniversary with a brand new spacious home salon with two client spaces, which is a space that clients have described many of times as a calm and relaxing atmosphere because you get the luxury of a salon service without the hustle and bustle of a normal busy salon."

"I’d like to thank everyone that helped with the build of the salon especially my mum and dad, I wouldn’t be where I am without you both.

"In the mean time the voting is still open until end of April and every vote is very much appreciated."
