A man remains in hospital with serious injuries following a collision involving a double-decker bus in Mostyn, say police, who appealing for information.

Shortly before 6pm yesterday (Wednesday, March 29) North Wales Police received a 999 call reporting a road traffic collision on the A548 involving a double-decker bus and a Renault Megane.

The road was closed between the junction by the old Lletty Hotel and the junction with Hafod y Ddol Road, near the Abakhan Shop. 

The emergency services attended the scene, and the male driver of the Megane was taken to Aintree Hospital in Liverpool with serious injuries. The female passenger from the Megane was taken to hospital in Stoke with serious injuries.

Sergeant Nicola Laurie of the North Wales Police Roads Policing Unit said: “I’d like to thank all those who were at the scene who have already spoken to us, however I’m appealing to anybody who may have been in the vicinity of the A548 in Mostyn yesterday evening, and who is yet to speak to us, to contact as soon as possible.”
