WREXHAM co-owner Rob McElhenney is urging supporters to back what will be a record-breaking Wrexham women match this weekend.

The title-winning Reds take on Connah's Quay Nomads at the Racecourse on Sunday (March 26) in front of what will be a record attendance of over 6,000 people.

After Steven Dale's side wrapped up the league title, the focus shifted to attempting to break the attendance record for a women's game in Wales.

The women's domestic attendance record was set by Cardiff City Women when they hosted Abergavenny in November, with 5,175 in attendance that day.

But Wrexham has now surpassed that, with the club's latest update on ticket sales showing that fans have now passed the 6,000 mark.

Now, I'ts Always Sunny In Philadlephia star Rob has been doing his bit to promote the match even further.

Taking to Twitter earlier this week, he wrote: "Please join this Sunday's Service with @WrexhamAFCWomen. All faithful welcome. Let's sell out this holy ground!"

Tickets are still available for the game on Sunday, which kicks off at 2pm and can be bought for just £1.

Wrexham's co-chairman Ryan Reynolds has also previously hinted that he may be in attendance at the record-breaking game, which could see the Reds finish the season with 12 wins out of 12.
