SCHOOLS across Flintshire will remain closed tomorrow (Friday, March 10) due to the weather conditions.

Several schools across the county - and also in Wrexham - have been closed today (Thursday, March 9) due to snow.

The MET Office has issued a yellow weather warning for the region, covering the whole of North Wales.

Heavy snow is likely to cause significant disruption through Thursday into early Friday.

As such, all schools in Flintshire will be closed on Friday (March 10), the council has confirmed.

Meanwhile, parents in Wrexham are being advised to contact their children's schools to see if they are closed or not.

A spokesperson for Wrexham Council said: "The decision rests with schools and they will communicate direct with parents/carers and post to our website.

"Our advice to parents is to always look out for communications from their child’s school."

Meanwhile, all garden waste collections in Flintshire were suspended today and are also suspended on Friday 10 March and Saturday 11 March.

Crews will be deployed to assist with gritting and snow clearing operations.

There will be no re-collection of garden waste for rounds suspended today, tomorrow and Saturday. Residents are asked to present their garden waste on your next usual collection day.
