They are aerial shots taken from atop the floodlights at the Racecourse, and the Leader shared them to our Local Bygones group on Facebook.

The date was known but believed to be the 1950s.

The sight of the technical college, now Wrexham Glyndwr University, was of course familiar to some but catching most people's attention were the prefabricated houses near the Wrexham AFC ground.

Many never even knew they had ever been there, with some recalling their own time or that of a family, living there. They were taken down in the mid 1970s.

Peter Bromley said: "There’s some memories, I can see my old prefab where I grew up, 10 Laburnum Way. My gran's house a few doors down and my aunt's.

"It was a close community back then, a shilling went into the electric meter, small coal fire and I could read my comics at night from the bright floodlights of the racecourse. Happy days mostly."

Mandy Davies added: "My nan and grandad Griffiths lived there for years. They lived opposite the park to start with and had to move further up to laburnum way to make way for the flats, then they moved back into one of the flats opposite the park."

In the backgrounds you can spot Wrexham Lager, St Giles Church and the bus depot to name a few. The lack of traffic and ease of parking were also highlighted.

Things are certainly different now!
