A WARNING has been issued over a drug rumoured to be circulating in the north West of Wales.

According to North Wales Police, the 'Purple Punisher' drug has recently been in circulation in the area.

The drug is said to be 'highly potent'.

Wrexham police district inspector Luke Hughes is urging people not to take risks.

He said: "Rumours that a MDMA tablet is in circulation in the North West called as “Purple Punisher” and that these have on occasion be found to be highly potent and can lead to overdose.

"My simple advice is “don’t risk it”  these tablets were in circulation in 2019 and it could well be an urban myth that they are circulating once again.. however I thought it best to advise you… just in case."
