VICTIMS of domestic violence in areas of Wrexham Rural have been gifted care packages put together by an officer.

While clearing out the police station in Rhos, PCSO Rebecca Roberts saw an opportunity to give something back to some victims and children caught up in domestic incidents.

After discovering boxes filled with new, unused items including toiletries, pyjamas, socks, colouring books, pencils and some toys that were leftover as part of other projects, she came up with the idea of putting together the care packages.

PCSO Roberts said: “Instead of leaving them in storage at the station, I thought it would be nice to give something to those who have been through a tough time.

“Each day, I will do a review of some of the cases that have come in on my patch and identify if someone would benefit from one of the packs.

“My aim is to make sure that victims feel completely supported and I hope these packages go a long way in reassuring them that we are here to help and that they can contact us at any time if they need us.”
