POLICE are investigating after a Wrexham pub suffered "crippling" vandalism.

The incidents occurred on January 29 and 30 at the King's Mills Pub, on Kingsmills Road, Wrexham.

A group of youths were seen on CCTV kicking a fence bordering the pub's car park, and then returning the following day to cause more damage.

The Leader:

Benjamin Adams, who has been landlord of the pub since May 2022, said the vandalism has caused hundreds of pounds worth of damage - at the worst possible time.

"Right now this is not something we can afford to have happen to us," he said.

"With customers having less money to spend, we are seeing a downfall in footfall which in turn means less money into the business. Additional expenses such as this cripple us financially."

However, Mr Adams said these are very much isolated incidents.

"Isolated incidents such as this do not reflect on the local community as everyone we've met so far have been such lovely people - who have supported us with our vision of creating a family-friendly community local pub.

"We must not let incidents like this overshadow the great people who support us every single day."

A North Wales Police spokesperson said: "We received a report yesterday evening of suspected criminal damage at the Kingsmills Pub on Kingsmills Road in Wrexham.

"The incidents occurred on both January 29 and 30.

"Officers are currently investigating and our enquiries are ongoing."

After the King's Mills pub posted about the damage on its social media page, dozens of people commented expressing their anger at the incident - describing it as "disgusting" and "shocking".
