Local memories
Gwersyllt Library would like to establish a new group for local residents to discuss and reminisce about the local area and about times gone by. If you would be interested in joining this group, then please come along to Gwersyllt Library on the first Thursday of the month at 2.30pm. Bring any stories, pictures or any other items you think would be of interest to share with others. Tea and coffee provided.
Don't forget - we've gone Fines Free!
From January 1, 2023, you will no longer be fined if your library items are late back, however if you've not returned them after 90 days, you will be billed a replacement cost of the item. You will still be able to renew your books up to five times if you cannot get in or you haven't finished with them and we would encourage you to do this. If you have books which you have had for a while, we would really appreciate their return. Please note, that your book will no longer be automatically renewed, so you must remember to return or renew them before they become overdue.
Mindfulness in winter at Brynteg Library
This new year most of us will be making a few promises to ourselves: get more exercise, eat healthier, drink a little less wine, etc. New Year's resolutions aren't like ordinary goals. They have a far more powerful effect on our psyche because the end of one year and the start of another symbolises new beginnings, a new chapter, and another chance to achieve the things we've always dreamt of. So why not put mindfulness at the top of your list? At the heart of every goal lies the desire to be happier. Science has shown the benefits of mindfulness extend not only to improved wellbeing, mental and physical health, better sleep, reduced stress but also to an improved level of happiness. Brynteg Library has a wide selection of books to help you along the way. Titles include: Conscious Craft 20 Mindful Makes To Reconnect Head, Heart & Hands Series - Whittling by Barn the Spoon; Quilting by Elli Beaven; Knitting by Sicgmone Kludje and Vanessa Koranteng, and Pottery by Lucy Davidson. Meddylgarwch/Mindfulness by Mark Williams and Danny Penman; and, A Year of Living Mindfully by Anna Black; and, Draw Yourself Calm by Amy Maricle; and, Mindfulness at Work by Maria Arpa.
