THE past few weeks have no doubt brought up some conflicting emotions for Wrexham fans as the Racecourse Kop has been demolished piece by piece.

There is, of course, the sadness at its destruction, but there should also be plenty of hope and excitement for what lies ahead in the future for the club and the ground.

Plans to re-develop the Kop were given the green light by Wrexham Council's planning committee in November 2021.

Once complete, it will take the official capacity of the Reds' home ground from 10,000 to 15,500.

It is also hoped that that could pave the way for international football matches to return to North Wales.

Over the past few weeks, we have been asking readers to send us in some of their best memories from the old Kop.

They included watching Wales play and the famous win over Arsenal in the FA Cup, among many others.

This week, we asked you to send us in your pictures of your Kop barriers - if you had any.

And once again you didn't disappoint!

The Leader:

PIC: Barrier in Paul Pemberton's garden.

Ponciau councillor Paul Pemberton was one of those who sent us in a picture of his Kop barrier, which is in his garden.

He said: "It’s gone forever but we are proud to have a piece of the Kop."

Pete Jones sent his in from what appears to be a well set-up man cave.

The Leader:

PIC: The Kop barrier sitting nicely at Pete Jones'.

Jeff Roden also sent us in a picture of his Kop barrier from his garden.

The Leader:

PIC: The barriers certainly make for a nice garden feature!

It's great to see so many pieces of Racecourse history remaining in Wrexham.

Got a pic of your barrier you'd like to send in? Then you can do so by emailing arron.evans@newsquest.co.uk.
