THE SON of a much-loved steward has thanked Wrexham fans for clapping in memory of his dad during their Boxing Day match.

Mark Hazeldene, 58, had been a matchday steward and a familiar face to many at the Racecourse for around eight years.

Mr Hazeldene, who was from Wrexham, died on Christmas Day following a year-long battle with a brain tumour.

Reds supporters clapped in memory of Mr Hazeldene during the 58th minute of Wrexham's resounding 5-0 win over Solihull Moors on Boxing Day.
