THOUSANDS of toys were delivered to homeless children in Wrexham, Flintshire and Chester.

With the Cost of Living on the rise, many families would have been considering cutting back on what they spent on gifts this Christmas.

Many others no doubt needed a helping hand when it came to buying any presents at all to put under the Christmas tree.

With that in mind, to help ease the pressure, a joint-effort between Wales and England has once again seen thousands of toys donated to charities who support homeless children in Wrexham, Flintshire and Chester.

For the seventh year running, the likes of Flintshire-based Dandy's Landscaping Supplies and Wrexham's Moneypenny teamed up with charities to get gift donations spread out across the region.

Adam Dandy, CEO of Dandy's, explained how the heartwarming project works.

He told the Leader: "This year, we collected items from the Share Shop Chester, All Saints Primary School in Gresford, The Little Oak Pub in Chester, our own collection here at Dandy's Landscaping Supplies on Sealand Road and the amazing staff at Moneypenny in Wrexham.

"Then we distributed a range of toys from a new mountain bike to colouring books, ready bears, LEGO and this year even gift cards for 16 to 18-year-olds who are homeless too."

In total, 18 giant bags full of toys were distributed to The British Red Cross in Wrexham, Save the Family in Chester and Local Solutions in Oakenholt.

Here are some pictures of the process which Adam shared on his Twitter page:

Adam added: "We've done this in conjunction with Moneypenny and SHARE for the past seven years."

A statement from Share Shop Chester read: "Today is our favourite day of the year! We collected and delivered thousands of new toys (18,000 litres) from Moneypenny, Share Chester and Dandy's Topsoil and Turf and All Saints School in Gresford, then delivered them all to the Save the Family the British Red Cross and Local Solutions for children who are homeless in Chester, Wrexham and Flintshire.

"Thank you to everyone who donated this year, seven years running!"
