A Flintshire firefighter has made the front cover of the 2023 firefighters calendar.

Richard Allen, from Holywell, is one of five fire service persons to feature on the front cover of next year's calendar.

Richard Allen has been a firefighter for 15 years and a crew manager for the last 11 months.

In addition to this he has also appeared in several reality TV programmes such as the  TV game show -The Void, Channel 4's SAS: Who dares wins and even a cameo on Emmerdale.

As well as working in the fire service, Richard has also featured in Dreamboys and as a dance teacher at Mold Urban Fusion. 

The versatile crew manager did feature in last year's calendar however says he is "proud" to be on the front cover this year.

The calendar, which is available here, includes fire service persons from various brigades across the country and in different roles.

Richard continued: "It was firefighters, crew managers, watch managers and we even had two high rank officers involved in the calendar."

The Leader:

Richard admits that he has been getting some 'stick' from friends and colleagues. 

He added: "My hairdresser has a calendar up, and it stays my month all year. [...] I've already received pictures and videos from people in Calendar Club looking for the calendar.

"But I'm lucky, with the support I have from a following on social media I've found when I post to promote the calendar I get a lot of people responding and saying that they've either bought one or planning on getting one for Christmas."
