Vintage buses will be running between Wrexham and Chester on New Year's Day following success in 2022.

On New Year's Day 2022, a number of vintage buses ran the service between Wrexham and Chester while raising money for Nightingale House Hospice.

After raising close to £1,700 last time, the event will return again in 2023.

A large selection of vintage buses and modern preserved buses will once again be operating a free service.

While the bus service is free, the organisers will be accepting donations for Nightingale House.

More information regarding the timetables is set to be announced closer to the day.

There will be programmes available to buy on the day, as well as food and drinks on offer at Wrexham Road Park and Ride site.

George Walker, one of the organisers, said: "We are really looking forward to hosting our second running day following on from the success of this year's event but also working on any improvements we could have made on last year.

"The team have worked together really hard over the last few weeks and the hardest work is yet to come. We would like to thank Wrexham and Cheshire West & Chester councils for allowing us the use of their facilities to allow the whole event to happen.

"If you see some red London buses about on the route leading up to and just after Christmas, be sure to give us a wave as we will be out and about finalising some minor details and teaching some of our fellow bus owners the route ready to run on the day.

"We look forward to welcoming as many people as possible aboard the buses and at the main event hub at Wrexham Road Park & Ride and we can't wait to raise as much money as possible for such a worthy cause."
