Fans in Wrexham gathered to watch the game at fan zones across the city yesterday. 

Wales is appearing at a World Cup tournament for the first time since 1958 at Qatar 2022.

The team had their first game last night against USA which ended one all with a goal from Gareth Bale. 

Two zones were set up last night at Ty Pawb and on the High Street infront of the Wynnstay hotel. 

Ty Pawb featured a live pre-match entertainment with Megan Lee Music and Alpha Chino - plus Côr Meibion Rhosllannerchrugog/Rhos Male Voice Choir performing after the game. 

Instagram freestyle football star Kumi Ward, known on the platform as Kumi Futtoboru, showed off her own impressive freestyle skills. 

Although she lives in Whitchurch, the 15-year-old freestyle athlete classes herself as an honoury Welsh person having been born in Wrexham. 

Several fans at Ty Pawb commented on the impressive atmosphere of the venue prior to the kick off.

Despite the wet weather several fans headed to the High Street to watch the match at the out door fan zone. 

The road is closed to traffic during Wales matches to enable fans to come and enjoy the games. 

Mark Pritchard, Leader of the Council, said: "We've worked in partnership with North Wales Police and businesses and the most important thing is that when we have large crowds in Wrexham that people are safe.

"So we have to have the road closures so that people can come to Wrexham to enjoy the atmosphere, enjoy the evening and there are no accidents."
