People gathered at Mold Town Centre to pay respects for Remembrance Day through a two-minute silence.

The two-minute silence was held at Daniels Owens Square at 11am where Mayor Haydn Jones began the ceremony.

Remembrance day is held on November 11 as it marks the end of World War I in 1918 on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month.

Members of the public stood in silence in the square with bowed heads to pay respect to soldiers past and present.

Mayor Haydn Jones believes it is important for people to continue to remember those soldiers through remembrance day.

He said: "It is of historical importance and important we keep doing it."

The mayor thanked all members of the public for turning up and paying their respects.
