This year’s Carers Rights Day campaign will focus on raising awareness of the rights that unpaid carers have, particularly in the face of the Cost of Living crisis.

Joanne Burke, gateway wellbeing officer for NEWCIS Wrexham, said: "We've seen a massive difference over the last few months with more enquiries about grants as people are struggling."

She continued: "We have people on the phone crying over paying fuel costs and it is having an affect on mental health - it's not an easy job."

The event is open for those currently accessing support from the service as well as any unpaid carers in North East Wales that would like to learn more.
