The Royal British Legion have thanked Wrexham AFC co-owner Rob McElhenney and the fans for their support of this year's poppy appeal.

Established in 1921 shortly after the First World War, The Poppy Appeal is a show of support for armed forces, and the funds raised are used to help service men and women, veterans and their families.

The launch of the 2022 Royal British Poppy Appeal has taken place with volunteers across North Wales distributing the poppies.

In the first day of the launch the appeal sold 3,000 poppy pins.

The charity took to twitter to commend the support of Wrexham AFC.
