THE Mayor of Mold has officially opened a new craft shop in the town centre.

The Craft Shack invited Mayor of Mold, Councillor Haydn Jones to officially open the new store which is located on King Street.

Cllr Jones said: “I was delighted to meet Emma and Paul and welcome them back to Mold.

“When I arrived on Saturday the shop was already very busy with lots of happy customers and I wasn’t surprised as it looks great, with lots of unique gift ideas and also other personalised items, including a clothing range which is ideal if you need t-shirts, sweatshirts or other items personalised with a logo or name.

“I was also pleased to see them showcasing other local producers within their store, there’s certainly lots to look around.

“I wish Emma and Paul all the very best in their new premises.”

Owners of The Craft Shack are husband and wife team, Paul and Emma Worthington, who said: “We are so excited to be opening a shop in this busy location on Kings Street, we will be right next to other fantastic local businesses including Spavens, Maria’s and Truly Scrumptious Cafés.

“We started our business back in 2016 from our front room and it’s just grown and grown.

“After a couple of years, we took a chance and opened a tiny stall in the indoor market but within 18 months we had moved twice more expanding every time. When the pandemic hit and shops had to close, our trade went more online, so we moved our base to workshops in Nercwys.”

Paul added: “After listening to feedback from our customers who told us they love to see our products and in fact, lots of customers prefer to go into a shop rather than purchase online, we decided to start looking for the ideal location, so when the opportunity of the shop on Kings Street came up, we couldn’t say no.
