THE OWNER of a salon in Flintshire is "totally blown away" after it was named the best in Wales.
Cherise Amore Hair & Beauty, on New Street in Mold, was recently crowned Welsh Hair Salon of the Year at the British Hair and Beauty Awards.
Shortlisted for the final five because of its glowing online reviews, the salon then had to submit a portfolio of evidence showcasing its expertise to the judging panel.
Judges were looking at innovation and determination, passion and professionalism, skills and focus, client retention, customer service and understanding of market trends.
And having displayed all of the above, Cherise Amore, in its ninth year in business, won the gold award for Wales in the Hair Salon of the Year category.

Cherise Davies, owner of the business, said: "I’m totally blown away with achieving such a high accolade as Hair Salon of the Year.
"After leaving a career of a hairdressing lecturer, I wanted to introduce the high standards into North Wales.
"I strive to bring the latest techniques and technologies. I’ve recently gained the status of Wella Master Colour Expert - which makes our salon on the forefront of the latest developments in the world of colours."
She added: "I have a team of experienced staff on board, all again have individual expertise in their own field. We are a family-run small business with the team which welcomes everyone as family.
"There’s a great atmosphere I’m extremely lucky to have such a great team here as they work hard and deserve the recognition of the award, too."
