A QUEENSFERRY salon owner will be making the journey down to London to pay her respects to the late Monarch, Queen Elizabeth II.
Sara King, who owns the King’s Academy Hair and Beauty Salon in Queensferry says she will be making the trip down to London along with her sister, hoping to catch a glimpse of The Queen’s coffin which is currently lying-in-state at Westminster Hall to pay their respects.
Originally from London, Sara said: “I’m a real royalist, and so is my sister, as was our Mum – who passed away three and a half years ago; if she was here today, she’d be saying ‘let’s go, let’s go!’

“To me, the one stable parent I had in my life was my Mum, and the other one who was a constant in my life was The Queen.
“I just think to myself, this lady has dedicated her whole life to this country. The least we can do is rough it for a night in the car and go down and travel back in one day.
“Even if we don’t get in to see her, at least I know I’ve been there to lay my flowers, paid my respects and done the right thing in my eyes.
The sisters will be embarking on their trip tonight (Friday, September 16), leaving at around 9pm to drive through the night, before sleeping in their car and jumping on the train into the centre of London.
The pair will then drive back to Flintshire on Saturday night following a memorable day of marking their respects to the late Queen.
