RESIDENTS across Flintshire have been invited to pay their respects to the Royal Family following the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

Flintshire Council has confirmed books of condolence were due to open at 3pm on Friday, September 9 at County Hall, Mold County Offices, Flint and will reopen after the weekend at 10am on Monday, September 12.

A number of town and community councils have also announced arrangements for books of condolence and floral tributes.

 

Bagillt
 

Bagillt Community Council has confirmed there will be a book of condolence at Bagillt Community Library from today.

Flowers may also be laid at St Mary's and St Peter's Church in Bagillt.

 

Broughton and Bretton & Hawarden
 

A condolence book for Broughton and Bretton and Hawarden Community Councils will be available at the Council Offices, 113, The Highway, Hawarden.

Flowers can be laid on the grassed area at the rear of the War Memorial Institute in Broughton, as well as on the grass areas on either side of Hawarden Castle Gates.

Please do not use any cellophane or wrapping with the flowers.

Buckley
 

Buckley Town Council has said there will be a Book of Condolence opened at the Town Council Offices from Monday, September 12  2022.

 

Caerwys

Caerwys Town Council has confirmed a book of condolences has been placed in St. Michael’s Church.

The Church is open each day of the week.

 

Cilcain
 

Cilcain Community Council has confirmed books of condolence will be available at St Mary's Church in Cilcain and St John's Church in Rhydymwyn by Saturday.

 

Connah's Quay
 

Connah's Quay Town Council has said the Chair of the Council will read the Proclamation on Sunday, September 11 at 4pm outside the Town Council Office.

A Book of Condolence will be available in the Town Council Office, Fron Road, Connah’s Quay, Monday to Friday 9.30am to 4pm

The Town Council has a designated grassed area opposite the Civic Hall/Swimming Pool for any flowers/wreaths.  

The Town Council requests due to composting of the flowers/wreaths no plastic/cellophane is left.

 

Flint
 

Flint Town Council has announced its flag at the Town Hall has been placed at half mast as a mark of respect.

There will be a book of condolence opened at the Town Hall for anyone to come and offer their condolences at this time.

Floral Tributes can be laid at St. Mary’s & St. David’s Parish Church, Church Street, Flint.

Holywell
 

Holywell Town Council has confirmed that its book of condolence is now in-situ at its offices in Bank Place.

A spokesman said it will be available from 9.30am until 4pm during each day of the 10 days of mourning - excluding Sundays.

Flowers may be laid in the courtyard at the front of the town council offices.
The town council has its Union Jack flying at half mast.

 

Hope
 

Hope Community Council has confirmed a book of condolence will be made available at: Heulwen Close Community Centre, Hope  - Monday to Friday 10am to 8pm and Saturday & Sunday 10am to 4pm

 

Llanasa
 

Llanasa Community Council has confirmed its books of condolence are to be made available over the weekend.

They will be in-situ at Llanasa Church in the village and at All Saints Church in Main Road, Ffynnongroyw.

 

Mold
There will be a book of condolence at Mold Town Hall and within the Daniel Owen Centre (days and times below).

Floral tributes can be left on the grass verge / flower bed outside the front wall of St Mary’s Church on the High Street.  Please ensure flowers are left without any cellophane.

Wednesday September 14 – Mold Town Council, Earl Road - 9.30 – 16.00
Thursday September 15 – Mold Town Council, Earl Road - 9.30 – 16.00

Saturday September 17 – Daniel Owen Centre - 9.30 – 14.30

Nannerch
 

Arrangements for a book of condolence have been announced by Nannerch Community Council.

A spokesman for the council said the book will be at St Michaels and All Angels Church in Nannerch.

Candles can be lit, the spokesman added.

 

Northop

There will be a book of condolence open at St. Eurgain and St. Peter’s Church in Northop as of Monday, September 12. The Church is open from 9-5pm daily.

Flowers can be laid at the Cenotaph in Sychdyn and along the fence from the gate to the main entrance to St. Eurgain and St. Peter’s Church in Northop. Please do not use plastic or cellophane wrapping.

 

Penyffordd
 

Penyffordd Community Council has confirmed a condolence book will be located at Penyffordd Royal British Legion Monday to Saturday 4pm – 10pm and Sunday 12 noon – 11pm.

 

Saltney
 

It has been confirmed Saltney Town Council and the Community Centre at Sandy Lane would welcome members of our Community to place floral tributes to her Majesty in the fenced area in front of the Community Centre.

Books of condolence will be open to the public at the Community Centre, in the in the coming days.

 

Shotton
 

Shotton Town Council has confirmed there will be a book of condolence at Rivertown Church on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings.

Flowers can also be left at the Henry Weale Memorial Garden.
