Wrexham MS Lesley Griffiths said in a Tweet: “Throughout our lives, Her Majesty the Queen, has devotedly served our country during an historic 70 years of service which will never be replicated. My thoughts and prayers are with her family”

Clwyd South MS Ken Skates also Tweeted: “The loss of HM Queen Elizabeth II is devastating for the country, and my thoughts are with her family during this incredibly difficult time. In the Queen we saw exemplary service and the kindest of hearts.”

Sarah Atherton MP said: "The loss of our Queen, who never showed anything but decency, humility, and kindness, has touched everybody’s hearts and left a hole in families’ lives not only in the UK but across the world. Few of us can remember a time without Her Majesty's devoted and impartial service to the British people: Her Majesty’s strong sense of duty, integrity, and stability has been a beacon of light in all of our lives for 70 years.

"Her Majesty visited Wrexham during every milestone of her Reign. Indeed, one of Her Majesty’s last duties was to sign the Letter Patent to make Wrexham a Platinum Jubilee city. Wrexham will be forever grateful to the Queen and the UK Government for recognising Wrexham’s potential, ambition, and contribution to our United Kingdom.

"But now, we turn to the bittersweet moment of embracing this period of change and saying the words that this country did not expect to hear just quite yet. God Save The King."

Simon Baynes MP for Clwyd South said: "Such sad news - our hearts go out to the Royal Family as we say farewell to our wonderful, wise and compassionate Queen who has watched over us with such love and dedication for 70 years."

Alyn and Deeside MP Mark Tami said: "Like my constituents in Alyn and Deeside, I'm mourning the loss of a great monarch.

"Queen Elizabeth II was a constant and reassuring presence throughout our lives, helping us celebrate what we have in common and rising above political differences. She worked hard throughout her 70-year reign, carrying out her duties with immense grace and touching a great many people's lives.

"It was an incredible privilege to have met her in 2018 when I was honoured to join the Privy Council. I send sincere condolences to the Royal Family in their time of need and to any of my constituents who are struggling with this loss."

Rob Roberts MP for Delyn said: “Nothing can measure the impact of a person than the way we feel when they pass away.  We feel unimaginable grief at the passing of a parent, close family member or lifelong friend, and it is astonishing to think that people feel those same feelings at the passing of someone that they probably never met.  Such was the impact of Her Late Majesty.

“She was the epitome of discretion, humility and grace, and whilst we were honoured to have her as our Head of State for so long, in truth I believe that she felt that the honour was hers in being afforded the privilege of being our Queen, for hers was a life of duty, of sacrifice and of diligent responsibility to be the beacon that we all looked towards in the most challenging times.

"She never took that duty lightly or casually. That omnipresent figure that bound us all together, providing a link to times gone by, and those people we have sadly lost along the way.

“People have said “we will never see her like again”. I hope upon hope that we DO see her like again, because we all need that figurehead, that shining light, that ubiquitous inspiration to do all we can in the service of others. Our grief is palpable, the void in our lives both unexpected and painful, and we mourn her loss. May she rest well, reunited with her beloved husband.

“God save the King.”
