"Welcome to Dorking."

I doubt many Wrexham fans making the long journey south for Saturday's game in Surrey would have expected to be greeted by the Dorking Wanderers chairman and manager.

But that's exactly what happened.

On Saturday afternoon, Dorking's manager and chairman, Marc White, walked into the Surrey Yeoman pub and handed £300 to a group of Wrexham fans enjoying a drink ahead of the game.

One of which, was Reds fan Jamie O'Hara, who was charged with looking after the money when Mr White walked in.

"We were in the first pub we found, there was only a handful of Wrexham fans in there, we were all talking and then Marc White walked in.

"He came over to the bar and said 'welcome to Dorking, have a few beers on me' and gave me £300 because he said I looked trustworthy," Jamie added with a chuckle.

"Then he turned around and walked out, which left all of us wondering why he'd chosen that pub.

"We tried to keep it between us, but word got out and the kitty was gone within 20 minutes.

"Everyone was amazed, he was really gracious and it was very generous from a man who is trying to do something for the town of Dorking.

"Lower league football is getting back to its roots of the club and town being interlinked, Wrexham is a prime example of that, but that's what Marc White is trying to do with Dorking."

It's not just Jamie who was full of praise for the Dorking gaffer, Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney took to social media to thank Marc White for his hospitality and vowed to return the favour when the Wanderers travel to the Racecourse.

The Reds have now won four games on the bounce, following their 5-0 triumph at the weekend and will look to make it five when they host Maidenhead United on Saturday.
