A free art trail across Flintshire and Denbighshire has returned this month hosting 66 artisans in 25 studios. 

The Clwydian Creatives Art Trail runs every weekend in September and allows visitors to view art, meet the creators and even watch some creative processes. 

The event takes place every year in various studios across the Clwydian mountain range.

The studios range from purpose built studios, people's homes to community halls.

The Clwydian Art Trail began last year, however similar art trails across the whole of North Wales have been running for over 14 years.  

Alwyn Dempster Jones, from Mold, will be showcasing his art.

He said: "It's a nice initiative, especially from last year when people were still restricted and it's a real feeling of relief for people to be able to come."

As a lifelong artist the closure of galleries and art shops impacted Mr Dempster Jones, however also gave him the opportunity to explore the countryside around him. 

He will be displaying his work from his conservatory and finds the aspect of sharing his work with the public "very gratifying."

The event runs Friday to Sunday throughout September with each studio opening their doors between 11am-5pm unless stated otherwise via the timetable.

The artists are showcasing a range of art forms including painting, textiles, watercolours, feltwork, pottery and illustration.
