A SPECIAL open day event is to be held to give the people of Wrexham an opportunity to view the latest design plans ahead of the highly anticipated ‘Museum of Two Halves’ coming to the city centre.

The new museum is going to be a major new national attraction for the city which will celebrate Welsh football past and present in all its diversity, alongside an enhanced first-class venue to tell the trials and tribulations of the ever-growing footballing exploits here in North-East Wales.

The open day will be held at Wrexham Museum on Tuesday, September 13 and will be a chance to view large scale illustrated displays of the latest designs for the museum.

The event is family friendly and appeals to all age groups who will be encouraged to share their thoughts and feedback on the plans.

Cllr Paul Roberts, lead member for Partnerships and Community Safety said: “The design team have been making great progress with the plans for the new museum, so we’re delighted to offer this opportunity for the public to come and view the proposals up close and speak to the team in person.

“Over 500 people took part in the public consultation last year. The feedback received has helped inform the latest design plans and we’ve also assembled a number of specialist and community focus groups who are working closely with us throughout the project.

“This is a huge development for Wrexham city centre which promises to attract new visitors from around the county and beyond so I hope a many people as possible will make the most of the opportunity to view the plans as this key stage.”

The open day event takes place on Tuesday, September 13 at Wrexham Museum, Regent Street during two separate sessions. The afternoon session will take place from 1.30pm – 3.30pm whilst the evening session will take place from 6pm – 8pm with everyone welcome.
