THE 'Borrow Bus' offering residents the chance to save money came to Mold for the first time.

The eye-catching green Bws Benthyg (Borrow Bus) came to Mold Market for the first time last Wednesday and created a lot of interest amongst shoppers and visitors in Daniel Owen Square. The Bws Benthyg team were warmly welcomed to Mold by Hannah Blythyn MS and Mayor of Mold, Haydn Jones.

It allows residents to borrow things that they need but don’t own, saving money and space in their homes. This includes equipment for entertainment and rarely used household items or garden tools. It also allows residents to donate things they no longer need, helping to reduce waste.

The Leader:

Delyn Member of the Senedd, Hannah Blythyn, is an active champion of waste reduction.

She said: “It was fantastic to be there in Mold to meet some of the Bws Benthyg team on their first visit to Mold and to see for myself some of the items they have for people to borrow.

"Bws Benthyg is a brilliant initiative that supports the local community, helps reduce waste and supports moves towards a truly circular economy in Wales. I’m really pleased to see these plans come together and look forward to seeing the difference it makes.”

Janine Cushworth, director of reSource the organization running the scheme, said: “Bws Benthyg will give people an easy way to borrow items like gardening tools, household items, equipment for parties or entertaining and so on, for very little cost. At this time when we are all feeling the pinch, we hope that it will help people to save money by not having to buy items they need, whilst also reducing waste, by putting unused or unwanted items lurking in people’s attics or sheds to good use.”
