LLANGOLLEN Railway had a visit from a famous face earlier this week.

The popular family attraction welcomed production company STV Studios to the site on Tuesday, August 16.

That is because it has been chosen as one of the locations in the Dee Valley for an upcoming episode of Celebrity Antiques Roadtrip.

Guests there that day may have spotted former Blue Peter presenter Gethin Jones among the crowd.

The 44-year-old, who was previously on S4C and also appeared on Strictly Come Dancing, now regularly fronts the BBC magazine show Morning Live.

The popular 'Celebrity Antiques Roadtrip' programme, which attracted nearly 14 million viewers in 2019 from across the BBC and other Freeview channels, sees two teams of antiques experts and celebrity guests visit various antique shops on a mission to buy items to then sell at auction.

A statement from Llangollen Railway following Jones' visit read: "Yesterday Llangollen Railway welcomed the BBC for filming of Celebrity Antiques Road Trip and our Heritage Railcar driver Dewi had an interesting visitor to his cab. Keep your eye out for the next series."

Jones took a selfie of himself with driver Dewi Davies in the cab of the diesel railcar in use on passenger train services.
