An annual flower show where anyone can show their skills in growing flowers and vegetables, as well as their craft and cookery skills, takes place this August.

The Burton and Rossett Horticultural Society is holding its 72nd Annual Flower Show and all are welcome.

The show has something for everyone, from craft to cookery, and flowers to juniors, and also a dedicated ‘novice’ section.

Anyone can enter most classes regardless of their previous experience of showing, though some are reserved for society members.

The show will be held on Saturday, August 27 at Darland High School in Rossett. The show begins at 1 pm and ends around 4.30 pm.

The staging of the exhibits will take place on Friday, August 26 from 6.30pm to 9pm.

The schedule on the show day is as follows:

  • 7.30am to 9.15am - Staging of exhibits
  • 9.15am to 12.30pm - Judging (hall closed to the public)
  • 1pm to 4pm - Hall open to the public
  • 4pm - Presentation of Awards
  • 5pm - Show Closes (all exhibits collected)

Trophies will be awarded to the best exhibitors in each section which includes flowers, vegetables, novice, novelty, craft, cookery, honey, wine, floral art and junior sections.
