THE WELSH government is offering up to £300 to help towards the costs of the school year through the Pupil Development Grant.
The grant is available to assist towards the costs of school uniforms and equipment for those on low income.
Applications are currently open for the start of the 2022/23 academic year until December 31, 2022.

The grant has been increased so that children entering year 7 can receive £300 and children in other years from reception through to year 11 receive £225.
Wrexham Council says children eligible for free school meals attending school in Wrexham, and in either reception class or years 1 to 11 are eligible for the grant. This also includes children in a special school, special needs resource base or pupil referral unit aged 4 to 15.
The grant is designed to help parents with the costs of school uniforms, sports kits, stationary, bags, laptop or tablets and any other specialist equipment needed for the upcoming year.
