A NORTH Wales hospice has thanked the support for a popular fundraising initiative which has transformed a meadow at Wrexham's Erddig Hall into a sea of blue this summer.

The annual Sunshine Meadow event, selling 1,000 specially designed everlasting forget-me-nots to raise money for patient care, has this year been sponsored by education recruitment specialists Excell Supply Limited.

The forget-me-nots were on display at the National Trust site throughout June, each one a touching tribute to the life of a loved one or a beautiful gift for someone loved and treasured.

Excell Supply marketing manager Gavyn Edwards said: "It is an honour and a privilege for Excell Supply to sponsor the Sunshine Meadow in aid of Nightingale House Hospice. We are committed to help spread awareness of the fantastic help the hospice provides not only to the patients, but also to the family and immediate loved ones of those so desperately in need of their services.

"Nightingale House has gone above and beyond to reach thousands of patients and families with the care they need. In turn, it's a chance for us to demonstrate the value of support, care and what matters to us as individuals at the end of our lives. After a turbulent and difficult year for us all, it means a lot that we can help in every possible way to ensure the hospice can continue to raise funds.

"We look forward to continuing to build a very warm relationship with Nightingale House, and support them through new ventures and events. It fills us with great warmth and pride that as a team we can bake, bike, run or walk towards helping them.

"So if you see us running around with crowns on our head in a Royal Run, or sporting a reindeer outfit for a Rudolph Race, baking cakes or doing a midnight walk, please take a second to donate, or even better - join in with us!"

Nightingale House In Memory Fundraiser, Delyth Underwood, added: "Everyone here is incredibly grateful to our corporate sponsors. Their support enables us to maximise the income made from selling our beautiful forget-me-nots and help cover the hospice costs of this event.

"We are very fortunate to have Excell Supply as our main sponsor as they support the hospice in so many ways, as do our other sponsors, Entrec Ltd and DTCC. Without our sponsors, we wouldn't be able to fundraise the way we do."

Now that the forget-me-not installation display period is over, the flowers can be collected from Caffi Cwtch, Nightingale House Hospice, Chester Road, Wrexham on Sundays, July 24 and 31, and August 7, between 10am-4pm. Or they will be posted out, if postage has been paid.
