Xplore!, is bringing a day of science activities to St Giles Church in Wrexham this weekend.

Wonder Day takes place on Saturday, July 9 and will enable visitors to engage with science in a new and extraordinary place. Guests will be able to experience the stardome, learn what makes a circuit and uncover the mysteries of slime.

Over the last 18 months, Xplore! has brought together faith and science by bringing experiments and activities into local churches.

Wonder Day is an opportunity for the public to see the hard work St Giles Church and Xplore! have put into organising the event and to experience some of the activities themselves. The event, running from 10.30am till 4.30pm is completely free, so there is no need to book a ticket - anybody can drop by.

Clair Griffiths, Community Fundraising and Outreach Coordinator said: “Xplore! goes to church has been a brilliant project so far. I have been able to go to almost all the events and had the opportunity to interact with some amazing young people.

"Wonder Day is a brilliant opportunity to show the community at large what we have been doing as well as a chance to bring Xplore!’s science engagement skills to venues that being on the Glyndwr campus would never have allowed us to go to”

The team at St Giles said: “St Giles’ is buzzing with excitement - looking forward so much to welcoming Xplore on Saturday 9th July!”
