Rev'd George Bearwood said: "I’m very much looking forward to this exciting and challenging next step in my journey and hope to engage with the communities of the area with a forward thinking, inclusive, and diverse heart."
George divides his time between his role in the church and as a presenter on Total Rock Radio with a weekly Christian rock show.
The new priest grew up in the Black Country before heading to Edinburgh to study Fine Art.
Before beginning his vocation in the Church of Wales he pursued a career in media, working as a musician as well as in TV and radio.

He then went on to study Theology and serving his Curacy in the Alyn Mission Area under the guidance of the Rev’d Huw Butler.
Priesthood clearly runs in the family as George's wife of four years, Rev'd Alex Mayes, is the priest for Connah's Quay.

George has a passion for art, loud music and horror movies which he regularly makes use of in his ministry.
In appointing George to this new ministry, The Bishop of St Asaph, The Rt. Rev’d Gregory Cameron, said, "George brings a unique background to his ministry and is an unusual candidate for priesthood.
"Nevertheless, his deep faith and gentle pastoral care are much loved and appreciated."
