Legendary pub, the Turf Hotel, has sold out of wristbands for their ‘fan zone’ during two of Wales’ World Cup matches.

The pub, located next to Wrexham AFC’s Racecourse Ground and often associated with the club, is holding the adult-only event in the pub's car park and will see the games broadcast on a big screen.

The ‘fan zone’ is in place for both of Wales’ matches against USA with a capacity of 500 people per game and in just seven hours all 1,000 wristbands have been sold.

The wristbands were on sale for £5 per person per game.

The tickets went on sale earlier today (Friday, July 1) and in just two hours landlord Wayne Jones confirmed on Twitter that over half of the wristbands had been sold.

He said: “WOW. What a response. 647/1000 tickets sold in just under 2 hours.

“Be quick if you want to join us for the World Cup.”

Just five hours later, the wristbands sold out altogether, and Wayne, who has been landlord for 14 years once again took to Twitter to confirm that they were no longer available to be purchased.
