WE RECENTLY asked our readers which shops they would like to see hit town centres in Wrexham and Flintshire - and it brought about some interesting suggestions.

Gone are the days of the likes of Woolworths, Debenhams and more but - according to our Facebook post - many would like to see them return.

But what other businesses would Leader readers most like to see open up shop in their towns?

Here's what you had to say when we asked you the question:

Robert Downs came up with an interesting suggestion for Wrexham, saying: "Put all the pubs etc to Eagles Meadow and bring all the shops back into town centre as they should be."

Sarah Ryan said: "In Wrexham Town there needs to be a H&M, a baby shop, Lush etc. Also in the actual centre of town a Toby Carvery. It's a struggle to find a decent place when not everyone drives."

Sarah Patten meanwhile was feeling a little more nostaglic. She said: "Woolworths or Debenhams brought back. I miss both."

That was a sentiment echoed by many other Facebook users in our comments section.

Penelope Ann summed that up by saying: "I think if they brought all the original shops back (Mothercare, Woolworths etc) people would appreciate them more now! (Use them or lose them!)."

Tara Jenkins from Flintshire said: "We could do with a shop similar to Wilko's. Something that sells a bit of everything."

Angela Thomas was thinking like an entreprenuer when she wrote: "For Buckley, a Primark store in the old factory shop would be great for essentials - clothing, underwear, shoes etc."

Kirsty Louise added: "Just a decent clothes shop in Mold would be great."

Hundreds of other residents also got in touch with suggestions from Marks & Spencer shops to KFC drive-thrus and more.
