POLICE are investigating thefts of "significant amounts" of copper cable in the Wrexham area.
Last weekend, the Leader reported that hundreds of Openreach customers living in Wrexham were affected by recent thefts.
One theft occurred between Southsea and Coedpoeth and saw about 700 metres of underground cables, used by 2,000 people, stolen. Then around 800 metres of cables, used by a further 400 customers, were taken in Overton.

It reportedly left customers without telephone and broadband connectivity.
Today, (May 12), North Wales Police said: "In the last 10 days there has been four incidents where significant amounts of copper cable have been stolen in the Wrexham area.
"If you have any information relating to these incidents please contact North Wales Police on 101 or web chat via the North Wales Police public website quoting B066955."
