Youngsters across the region will be on the move to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, and raise vital funds for Nightingale House Hospice at the same time.

The Nightingale House 'Royal Run for Fun' is a new summer campaign, sponsored by Excell Supply.

The campaign during May and June, is a fun and active way to celebrate the Jubilee, whilst raising much-needed funds for the hospice.

Schools and nurseries will be the main participants, however anyone in the community can take part.

A Royal Run can be held at a location, date and time of the school’s or participant’s choice, and is accessible to all age groups and abilities. Participants are not required to run if they do not wish too, they can skip, walk, hop or crawl - it is completely the school’s choice.

To take part, each participant is asked to raise a minimum sponsorship of £1.50 and in return for their donation they will be provided with their very own ‘Royal crown’, which they can decorate and wear on the fun run.

Nightingale House will also provide sponsorship forms for each participant, fundraising tips, and posters to display.

On completion of their Royal Run, participants will also receive a personalised certificate to thank them for their support and celebrate their success.

As an extra incentive, the school or nursery which raises the highest amount of sponsorship (total for all school participants) will also receive a bespoke visit for an interactive lesson, courtesy of Jurassic Live Wrexham, from some friendly dinosaurs, including a velociraptor, triceratops and tyrannosaurus rex.
