A student from Wrexham is taking the plunge in support of an animal rescue charity.

Eleanor Grace Davies, from Cymau, will be doing a tandem skydive from 10,000 feet, to raise funds for Four Paws UK.

Taking off Tilstock Airfield, in Whitchurch, the 20-year-old hopes to raise at least £500 for the charity, a global animal welfare organisation for animals under direct human influence, which reveals suffering, rescues animals in need and protects them.

Four Paws UK are currently focussed on animals in the Ukraine, helping strays, bear, horses and more.

Animal lover Eleanor, who is studying media and TV production at the University of Chester said: "I am petrified but I'm doing it as Four Paws UK deserves donations, the work they do in rescuing animals globally is vital and commendable.

"I'm a huge animal lover, all animals, always have been. I have two poodles, Hetty and Reggie, and I would hate anything to happen to them.

"And with the situation in Ukraine, there are so many animals also involved that need help.

"It's easy to turn a blind eye, it's hard to watch the adverts on TV but there's something we can all do.

"I did research to better educate myself, to not be ignorant to what is happening.

"A skydive was always something I've been curious about but never thought I'd do it unless it was to raise money for something.

"I'm partially looking forward to it but I'm also very scared! So at least something good is coming out of it."
