There are not many occasions in football when there are more away fans than home fans, but with Wrexham AFC, anything is possible.

The Reds faithful have been magnificent all year, with the highest attendances in over 10 years and an average home attendance of over 8,500.

While Wrexham AFC has always been well supported, this year seems to have gone to another level. It started with a 9,000+ attendance when Rob and Ryan were in town.

Then a record breaking Easter weekend saw the attendance record break twice in the space of a few days with over 10,000 watching the Altrincham clash.

But when the attendance was announced at Boreham Wood on Monday afternoon, 179 miles from home, Wrexham had more fans in attendance than the London based hosts.

A total of 2,053, with 1,038 of those being Reds fans, watched the 1-1 draw at Meadow Park as a late penalty dented Wrexham's title hopes.

Tyrone Marsh's late equaliser cancelled out Paul Mullin's opener as Wrexham failed to see the game out and dropped two crucial points ahead of the big one next weekend.

The Reds' host leaders Stockport on Sunday, with anything but a win for Phil Parkinson's side will seemingly hand the title to the Hatters.

A big crowd is expected at the Racecourse on Sunday, with hopes of a repeat from the FA Trophy semi-final last month.

The game will be shown live on BT Sport for those who can't get their hands on a ticket.
