A graphic designer from Wrexham is putting her skills to the test to help provide care to people fleeing Ukraine.

Samantha Maxwell has a JustGiving page which is raising money for Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) and ActionAid.

Samantha has designed posters showing quotes about the impact of a war, which are going those who donate to her cause.

She says it "hit home” to see the devastation in Ukraine and wanted to do something to help.

Samantha, who has a mild form of Cerebral Palsy, said it “struck a chord” watching children, women, the disabled and elderly trying to get to safety.

She said: “The amount of people having to uproot their lives, the disabled included, and leave loved ones behind is just awful. I can't imagine having to do this myself.

“Being a graphic designer, I put my skills to use and created A4 posters with quotes from a variety of famous and influential people speaking about the impact of war as an optional thank you for their donation.

“If they would like a poster after the donation is made, people can Direct Message me on Instagram and Twitter,  my handle for Instagram is @sammyjade310 and my Twitter handle is @SammyJade310 .

“I'm extremely grateful to those who have already contributed to my appeal, but I still need more donations. I'm asking for a £2.99 donation to my JustGiving page for the DEC to help the people of Ukraine get the support they so desperately need.”

"£100 could provide emergency food for 2 families for one month"

Her target is set to £100 but has almost reached it.
