MORE than 2,500 people have tested positive for coronavirus in Wales.

The update from Public Heath Wales (PHW), published on Tuesday (March 8), covers the latest 72-hour-period of Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

PHW reported that 2,560 new cases had been confirmed in Wales.

These figures are the results of PCR testing not Lateral Flow Testing.

Sadly there were a further 16 Covid-related recorded, taking the total number of deaths in Wales to 7,033.

Of the 2,560 new cases, 521 were recorded here in North Wales.

Cases in North Wales can be broken down to:

Flintshire - 140

Wrexham - 116

Denbighshire - 89

Gwynedd - 79

Conwy - 69

Anglesey - 28

1,914,048 people have now had their covid booster jab in Wales.
