Tributes have been paid to one of the victims of the fatal collision on the A55 yesterday.

Sean Brett was one of two people who sadly died in the crash on the dual carriageway between Dobshill and Broughton on Saturday.

The 50-year-old father was a North Wales football stalwart and former manager of Menai Bridge Tigers, who paid tribute to Sean following his death.

In a statement on their website, the club said:"We are devastated at the tragic passing of our friend and former manager Sean Brett on Saturday.

"Sean's contribution to the club was immeasurable; he was with the club from the reformation of the senior side in 2009, spending a decade as manager.

"He also gave 12 years as manager of his son Noah's junior team, all the way from Under 7s to Under 16s.

"Sean was an integral part of the club's success in clinching the Anglesey and Gwynedd League titles, as well as several cup triumphs. He was more than just a manager, fulfilling numerous duties from treasurer to marking the pitch.

"While Sean left the club in 2019, he still came to support regularly and was Tigers through and through.

"The loss will be felt by the club, the town of Menai Bridge, and the wider local football community.

"All at the club would like to express heartfelt condolences to Nicola, Noah, Hope, and all Sean's family and friends."

The club held a minutes applause in memory of Sean before their under 10s game this morning.

Dozens of people sent messages of condolences on the social media post released by the club.
