Mold Plastic Reduction is joining the challenge by focussing on their goal of eliminating or reducing plastic waste. They're asking people to make their own plastic free pledge this week and be part of the solution to reducing the amount of plastic used and the pollution it causes.

One of Mold Plastic Reduction's Business Champions, Celtic Financial Planning, has got right behind the 1000 plastic free pledge scheme.

It has donated £100 worth of Totally Mold vouchers, for the person who goes above and beyond carrying out their plastic free pledges during the week leading up to St David's Day.

Pledges could include collecting clean soft plastics, from items such as bread wrappers and taking them to the collection point at Tesco in Mold rather than adding them to household black bin waste.

Some takeaway businesses in Mold and Caerwys are offering Naked Takeaway reusable food containers as part of the challenge. The Tiffin tins and pizza boxes in this scheme can be washed and reused dozens of times, so reducing the amount of single-use plastic and cardboard food containers needed.

Another way people can contribute is by taking some hands-on action with a mini-litter pick. You can go out individually or with friends and collecting litter from a local patch to love where you live and help protect the streets, parks and river banks from plastic pollution.
