STREETS in Connah's Quay have been given a deep clean this week.
In recent months, members of the public have been litter picking throughout the area.
But Goftyn Ward councillors Paul Shotton, Ryan O'Gorman and Beverly Futia listened to residents calls for their streets to be given a good scrub.
They arranged for Flintshire Council's Streetscene team to blitz the area on Monday and Tuesday.
Residents were asked to move their cars so the gulley sweeper and maintenance team could get to work.
Streets included in the clean up were King's Road, Hamilton Road, and Dee View Road.
Cllr Shotton said the action was about giving people pride in where they live.
He said: "We had been doing regular litter picks with residents and this was something that residents wanted.
"I had requested it a twelve months previous, but due to Covid restrictions it didn't happen. So I was very pleased to see the gulley sucker, street sweeper and team here today.
"We've received some really good comments about how well the area looks now.
"It's about taking pride back in our community, that's what we want to see."
