A part of the A483 wasshut in both directions following a crash, with motorists being advised to avoid the area.
Traffic Wales confirmed the collision took place on the A483 J1 between Halton and Ruabon.
Reports state that an air ambulance wass at the scene.

The road was closed in both directions with emergency services at the scene, advising motorists to find an alternative route.
North Wales Police have said:
"Due to an RTC on the A483, northbound between Halton and Ruabon, the road is closed in both directions. Diversions are in place through Llangollen via the A5. Please take care if in the area. Thank you."
The incident has now been cleared and the road has been reponed.
There is still heavy traffic in the area.
