PLANS to turn a property into holiday cottages have been refused by Flintshire Council.

An application was submitted to convert of existing property (The Croft) at Le Mirage, Whitford Road in Whitford, near Holywell, into two holiday cottages.

The cottages would play host to five holiday lodges. But Flintshire Council has rejected the plans.

Other notable recent planning decisions made by Flintshire Council's delegated officers are as follows:

  • Refusal of plans to renovate and extend existing stone cottage and erection of new detached garage at Graig Bach, Rhes Y Cae.
  • Approval of plans for change of use 112, Church Street, Flint from a commercial property back to a residential property.
  • Refusal of plans for erection of two storey rear extension and dormer window to rear and change of use to form two number two-bedroomed flats at 190 High Street, Connah's Quay.
  • Approved change of use to offer laser hair and tattoo removal at Browtique & Co, Unit 8 Red Hall Precinct, Connahs Quay.
  • Approved plans for erection of a new garage and home office at 34 Hall Lane, Connahs Quay.
  • Approved plans for replacement of existing flat roofed two-storey part of house with pitched roof at 16, Park Avenue, Hawarden. Removal of existing flat roof with pitched roof over lounge, dining room, kitchen and covered area and extension to form sun lounge into existing covered area. Demolition of existing garage and construction of new larger garage.
  • Approved plans for change of use of office to physiotherapy clinic at Adlink House, 86, The Highway, Hawarden. Will comprise of one physiotherapy treatment room and one adjacent reception/waiting area.
  • Change of use of 4-5 The Mall, Ambrose Lloyd Centre, Mold from retail to a mixed use retail and office space.
  • Refusal of plans for erection of single dwelling at Rose Cottage, Foel Gron, Bagillt.
  • Refusal of plans for conversion of two barns into two separate residential properties, with barn 1 to include B&B accommodation at Broncoed Uchaf, Nercwys.
  • Refusal of plans for alterations to the existing dwelling and erection of one new dwelling-house at Rhianfa, Ffordd Bryngwyn, Gwernymynydd.
  • Approved plans for extension and renovation of Grade 2* listed building to revert to single dwelling house at Plas Yn Bwl House, Plas Y Bwl, Caergwrle.
